How to Presentation

If I lived in the Antarctic...quick writes by R8 students.

If I lived in the Arctic...

I would fish all day because I like fish. I would live in an Arctic super lab. I could even be any ice animal I wanted. I would have a family of course. The are no rules there.  (By James)

I would spend my whole life trying to get enough food and water to survive as well as make an underground snow cabin with fur all around and jackets too. I would also try and put holes in the ice that I had filled with food and covered with logs. If there were any trees I would make a wooden house to live in in the summer as well as hunting tools such as a double headed spear.  (By Levi)

I would bring warm clothes with fuzzy bear skin with 20 long pairs of pants. I would have sheep wool boots like slippers and an igloo that is warm when I close the door. (By Finlay)

I would wear warm fluffy clothes so I wouldn't turn into ice and slowly drift away. I would study the whole place because I'm fascinated by the Polar regions and everything that lives there especially the Emperor penguins which are the biggest penguins in the world.  (By Adriel)

I would play with reindeer everyday and go out hunting with the polar bears. I would also climb the trees to see the snow owls. I would also go near the rocks to play with the seals and walruses. Also I would go down near the water to listen to the whales singing. (By Elsa)

I would like to build a snowman and catch fish in the lake. I would like to build an ice house. There would be beautiful reindeer and owls to look at. (By Nancy)


I would make an igloo filled with warm things like heater and more things like a bed and a kitchen and a garage and that would be awesome. I would love to have a snowmobile because I love cars. Also I would want a playground for my friends and family (By Jorjia)

I would go sledding and try to find polar bears and go fishing because I love sledding and I think that polar bears are cute. I don't want to be starved. (By Peter)

I would use a tamed bison as a car and I would live in the sea. I am not a human but a penguin that would cook his fish before I ate it as raw fish are just gross! (By Jack)

I would be dressed in white like a polar bear that is white as snow so that I could pretend I am a big snow ball that nobody could see. (By Gabby)

I would live in a castle igloo that is so so big and my guards will be heaps of polar bears, seals, sea lions and thousands of huskies! (by Campbell)

I would ride a big white and fluffy polar bear. It would take me to a nice warm igloo. Then I would look for big pieces of ice and make another big igloo for the polar bear to stay warm. (By Kacey)

Gabby's Story

Hoha The Tui                                                                                                                                            Hoha the Tui went "tweet tweet tweet" all day long. He was a wonderful Tui! The person that created him was The great and big Te Mawe. He made Tuis, Peacocks, Fantails and many other birds. He had a bag full with things to make the birds with. But the special birds he made were the Kiwi and the Flamingo. Te Mawe had two dogs that travelled the land and seas. One day, one of Te Mawe's dogs Matariki went to get a drink from a very dangerous stream. Once Matariki got to the stream, he started drinking and was getting pulled in, so he barked for help. Te Mawe heard him barking and ran down the hill and pulled Matariki as hard as he could until he got to the surface. Matariki had survived! Te Mawe and Matariki ran back to Tui as fast as they could to feed him, but he was so happy that he was fast asleep snuggled up his nest pillow. He was nice and warm in his leaf blanket.
